CUBELUNCH:

BracketLogo_small[1]

Our CUBELUNCHES are back, we will have our first one next Wednesday from 1-2. It will be lead by a fellow Cuber, Alison Coward from Bracket.

She will be leading a discussion on how to make use of online tools in order to work collaboratively. As most of the members are small companies it is to our advantage to learn how to work with other companies as it may lead to bigger opportunities and a more exciting way to work.

In coworking spaces where people are hotdesking it is important to learn how to collaborate with others by effectively making use of all online tools.

CUBETHINK: Nick Williams Talk

 nickwilliams

Nick Williams gave a great talk at THECUBE, it was both practical and inspiring. The whole talk is on the this link. http://www.inspired-entrepreneur.com/upload/download.asp?filename=Cube.MP3

However his top three tips are;

1. Hold yourself accountable, tell someone what you would like to do and have them follow up to see if you have done it.

2. Take one tangible baby-step towards the direction that you would like to go.

3. ‘Showup’ no matter how small the opportunity maybe, go ahead and do it as the more you do the more things will begin to happen.

Creative Industry Magazine can Boost your Business

As many of you know, we are the people behind Creative Boom London – a regional online magazine that aims to support, inspire and celebrate the creative industries in and around London.

The reason why we took this on board was because of the benefits it would bring to not just ourselves and all of our members, but the wider creative community as a whole.

Creative Boom London is one of 20 regional e-zines throughout the UK, all part of its parent and national magazine, Creative Boom.

We’re really proud to be part of this growing online community and the reason we’re telling you all this is because , if you haven’t heard of it yet – check it out! You can have your work featured on there which will help you to raise your profile and hopefully secure more business.

So don’t delay – have a look at the site and then get in touch. On Creative Boom London, we also have a free directory, somewhere that lists London’s wealth of creative talent. Just let us know your details and we’ll add you on there.

Graduates facing unemployment take alternative route

Graduates (Tina Phillips)

Graduates are finding it challenging to make progress within employment and their minds are going to waste. THECUBE is doing its bit to help this generation and we are doing so by offering incredibly affordable workspace and a community that members can tap into whenever they like.

Watch this space as we are working to develop a ‘graduate enterprise’ programme to make the transition into enterprise easy and tangible. When there are no opportunities, we must make them for ourselves and we are completely certain this encouragement will lead to various creative, innovative, and strong enterprises.

Happy 2010 to all THECUBE members!

Happy New Year from THECUBE (Image by Francesco Marino)

We would like to wish all of our members at coworking space, THECUBE an incredible year! May it be full of amazing experiences, creativity, and prosperity. THECUBE has a wonderfully exciting year ahead and we hope that you stick along for the ride and continue to support us.

Below are our top five favourite things for 2010…

Design Thinking by Tim Brown who is the CEO for IDEO. An international idea generating company, they have worked with incredibly diverse clients from Innocent to Bank of America.

Paloma Faith is a wonderfully quirky singer from Hackney and she just released her debut album. Her voice takes you straight back to the Harlem Jazz clubs of the 1930’s, its visceral and throaty.

My Knowledge Genie is a innovative way to package, share, and sell your knowledge. Great for IP based companies.

Viajante is a new restaurant set to open in 2010 in Patriot Square Bethnal Green, London. The menu is set to feature dishes from exotic places around the globe, can’t wait!

Not Just Label has been around since 2008, however their growth this year is one to be watched. If their new formula works it will change the fashion business for the better.

Happy New Decade!
