FIRSTBLOOD:Review of Phillip Osborne

On the 4th of March 2010 THECUBE hosted its first art event. We turned the seminar meeting space into a screening room and the rest into a intimate gallery. THECUBE is always experimenting and FIRSTBLOOD will continue as our platform dedicated to helping young artists hold their first showcase.

The event has two parts the first will be a Q&A with the artists followed by a ‘Freestyle’. Freestylin Art is was derived from the way hip-hop artists gain their credibility through freestylin their raps.

The way it works is an audience member brings an object, it can literally be anything, they hand it to the artist, which then turns it into a bespoke piece of art. People pay what they want, making art instant, accessible, affordable, and interesting.

Phillip created amazing pieces with hammers, hands, benches, canvases, bottles, junk.  Phillip’s work will be on show until April 23rd 2010

CUBELUNCH:

BracketLogo_small[1]

Our CUBELUNCHES are back, we will have our first one next Wednesday from 1-2. It will be lead by a fellow Cuber, Alison Coward from Bracket.

She will be leading a discussion on how to make use of online tools in order to work collaboratively. As most of the members are small companies it is to our advantage to learn how to work with other companies as it may lead to bigger opportunities and a more exciting way to work.

In coworking spaces where people are hotdesking it is important to learn how to collaborate with others by effectively making use of all online tools.
