<p><a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/coworking">Coworking is a new type of office space</a>, which started in the late 90’s in Silicon Valley. Nearly 15 years later it has evolved to cater to people who are looking for the professional environment of an office, but the character of a members club.</p>
<p>THECUBE is located in Spitalfields making it easily accessible from both quirky Shoreditch and the City. Our focus is on helping creative ideas grow by providing an aesthetically clean <a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/about">office space, business resources, and a community</a> of people who are creative and entrepreneurial.</p>
<p>There is always someone at hand to help with anything from PR, branding, to website development, and finance. Imagine the support that you would get from being part of a big organisation, but with the independence of having your own enterprise.</p>

<a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/"> THECUBE</a> will be offering <a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/coworking">FREE Coworking</a> 10:00-17:00 on Tuesday 23 March. Our Platypus mascot is taken from the little Australian creature, which seems to have the qualities of many different animals. Just like him we will be creating a <strong>collaborative brainstorming and problem solving platform</strong> that mixes different people from different industries. The more contrasting the better – illustrators, fashion designers, accountants, marketing, PR, etc. – All Are Welcome!</p>
<p>The objective is to get people from different backgrounds to help each other solve any type of problem; from finding new clients, creating a logo, creating a marketing strategy, to getting an opinion on a niggling thought.</p>
<p>Platypus is our first step of <a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/coworking">getting people to work collaboratively in a coworking space</a>, taking advantages of each others knowledge and contacts. This is what makes <strong>coworking </strong>different from <strong>office spaces</strong> or just <a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/coworking">sharing desk space</a>, THECUBE aims to provide a <strong>unique work environment</strong> that creates solutions.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/coworking">Coworking spaces in London</a> like THECUBE are a great breeding ground for collaborations and it&#8217;s important we learn how to make the best of the opportunity.</p>
<p>CUBER, Alison Coward from <a href="http://www.bracketprojects.co.uk">Bracket </a>hosted a <strong>CUBELUNCH </strong>regarding how to make the best use of collaborative online tools. Below are some tips for successful collaborations.</p>
<p><strong>Tips:</strong><br />
·         From the outset, have a discussion with all collaborators to clarify: the overall aims and objectives of the project, team roles according to individual strengths, and ownership (intellectual property)<br />
·         Stay organised throughout the project by scheduling in key dates and deadlines, so that tasks can be allocated to team members with an idea of when they need to be completed<br />
·         Use an shared online space (see below), rather than e-mail, to communicate to keep everyone’s contributions in same place and make it easier to find information</p>
<p><strong> Tools:</strong><br />
·         Google has a great range of tools to <a href="http://www.thecubelondon.com/virtual-office">support collaborative working</a> – from Google Docs for simple word processing, to Google Sites where you can embed calendars, and set up to-do lists<br />
·         For creative brainstorming, use an online whiteboard like Stixy.com or Twiddla.com to share images, web links and annotate.<br />
·         Use ActionMethod.com to get things done, a collaborative project management tool (also available on Iphone), designed by creatives for creatives to increase productivity.</p>
