CUBELEARN: Creative Writing For Business

creative-writing

Tuesday 7th December 2010
12:00-13:00

Fellow Cuber, Frances Booth has devised a creative writing workshop to make business communication more effective. It is a proven process that we learn best when given a strong metaphor, not only that but we are also highly susceptible to rhythm and tone. Therefore the application of creative writing tools could produce an impact on how your clients perceive your business.
This goes beyond copywriting skills, we all have an initial reaction to written text. Some text may alienate us and some engages us so much that we become passionate about a brand.
Frances Booth is a successful writer for the Guardian, she will be conducting an interactive workshop, which will cover the use of metaphor, grammar, alliteration, rhythm, and tone.

Innovation CUBELUNCH

lunch-on-a-skyscraper

As the government announces that East London will be the enterprise hub of London, we thought it would be a good idea to round up the  CUBERS and have a conversation.

Innovation comes from unexpected places and often it has nothing to do with big money or big names. We have great talent at THECUBE and think that we have both something interesting to say about innovation and have the tools to contribute something significant to the enterprise platform.

Gather your thoughts and bring your lunch boxes.

Women’s Enterprise Day @ THECUBE Coworking Space

GlobalEntrepreneurshpWk2010_logo

To celebrate Women’s Enterprise Day on Wednesday, 17th November, join digital wellbeing consultancy 8fold and              coworking and innovation space THECUBE for a fantastic evening of networking, talks and clinics, and of course, wine!

Women’s Enterprise Day is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week – a week that puts the spotlight on enterprise, opening up new opportunities for people across the country and the world.

More and more women in the UK are realising their potential and starting their own businesses. A recent survey of 1000 women entrepreneurs found that 70 per cent of those polled started their business because they wanted more flexible working conditions and 75 per cent of respondents said work life balance is better when you’re running your own business.

This informal and fun evening will allow you to connect with other likeminded female entrepreneurs and freelancers, share experiences and knowledge, learn about new ideas and receive one to one advice for your business from a range of female experts.

All in bite-sized, digestable chunks!

The event is FREE but we are asking attendees to bring a bottle of wine to share. Delectable goodies will be provided by our friends over at The Rambling Restaurant

We are adding to the schedule on daily basis but confirmed speakers and experts so far include:

Bite-Sized Talks and Workshops:

Nathalie Nahai: London-based designer, illustrator + psychologist on Body Language and Psychological Techniques for Business
