THECUBE coworking space will be providing East London entrepreneurs with a unique hybrid of consultancy and brainstorming. Our members give their time to advice on enterprise.

Entrepreneurs can feel isolated and often have to face problems and questions alone.  For this reason THECUBE and East London Business Place have partnered to give local entrepreneurs a platform to discuss their problems and receive relevant advice from other entrepreneurs.

Format

1. Entrepreneurs can bring any question. It can be any question from legal, accounting, to marketing and PR.

2. Each entrepreneur will be given a slot to meet with the ‘advisory council’.

3. The ‘advisory council’ is composed of different CUBE members who have experience and knowledge in creating sustainable businesses.

Please arrive on time to ensure you have a slot

About PLATYPUS

PLATYPUS was inspired by Matel’s own innovation workshop of the same name, we have taken it one step further to generate an event that offers an innovation and problem solving platform to businesses. The event was designed by Idea Engineering Agency using the latest research in innovation.

The event is a hybrid three different knowledge neighborhoods,  neurology, psychology, and industrial engineering.

Neurology: We use it to understand the mechanisms of the brain and create neurobic exercises to limber up the brain.

Psychology: We have spent time studying the psychology of innovation and the role it plays in innovative problem solving.Creating an environment and tools, which engage people into effective problem solving and collaboration.

Industrial Engineering: This provides the  backbone to problem solving using engineering techniques to provide a problem solving checklist and platform.

This is a first for THECUBE, it has been suggested by Vanilla. They need the help of our communal knowledge to help devise a one day event, called, One Day.

Need

The not for profit sector conference circuit is tired, the format hasn’t fundamentally changed in years, learning is limited, people usually attend to network but formats are not conducive of this. Ticket prices at a level  that means conferences are usually the territory of senior staff only. Conferences do not always lead to change/enabling NFP organisations to increase the impact of their work. Poor return on investment?

Vanilla is seeking new opportunities to a) influence the shape of the NFP sector b) raise our brand profile as an agency that brings people together and fosters innovation.

The Goal
We are calling all CUBERS, who can participate to come along and bring their knowledge, resources and opinion to help Vanilla solve their problem. It is a great opportunity to pull together as a collective and demonstrate that the key to great collaboration and problem solving is diversity.

THECUBE is moving into the realm of innovation and we aim to break the word into tangible executions. Innovation has different ingredients, one of them is new knowledge or knowledge in a different context. We may think we know something quit well, like language for instance. However, how well do we know the origins of our language and how it affects our neurological patterns? Or how does language affect the way we learn and conduct business? These are some of the questions we would like to explore under CUBELEARN.

CUBELEARN  is an event platform to learn new knowledge and look at business in a different light.

So far we have had Nathalie Nahai on Intuition For Business and Frances Booth on Creative Writing for Business. For next year we will showcasing the etymology of Business, the scientific process of Business, and Smart Wisdom.
