Our members are a diverse bunch, from Architecture, Accountancy, to Finance, Film, and Fashion. We like people that are thinking beyond their acquired skills, looking to grow ideas and create great enterprises.

Imagine a space where you not only work with people in your industry, but also work with people that you would normally not meet. Where collaborations are occurring between an architect and a graphic designer, or a fashion designer and a software developer, or finance consultant and a film maker, these are the types of extreme and diverse collaboration that THECUBE is inspiring.

We are a growing community of over 100 members, some are listed here http://thecubelondon.com/blog/category/our-members/ .

If you would like to join, please give Araceli or Marcus a call 0207 3779279.

We are just discovering the amazingness that is facebook, I know this should be a give, however I am a bit of a donkey when it comes to accepting new communication lines.

Last week whilst on Facebook we got to chatting to Andrew, who writes a blog about all the things that he loves and influences him. The blog covers art, music, architecture, design, etc. the entries are short and sweet, so makes for great info scanning.

Doing our Bit for Green

workspace2

Green and Eco have not admittedly been at the top of our agenda; however we are aware of doing our bit in creating a workspace that is kind to the environment. Our coworking space was designed and built by Marcus Kilpatrick, who made sure that we had a low carbon footprint by using locally sourced recycled material for the furniture, including our work-lounge. All lights are turned off at the end of the day and in spaces that are not in use, we have a think before you print policy, which reduces member’s paper waste significantly, we provide free bike racks, and finally we recycle our paper by turning them into notepads.

These are not points that will revolutionise the way people work, however we feel that a lot of little things eventually do add up. The truth of the matter is that it’s expensive for small business or start-up to go completely green, however doing what you can, will make a difference, especially if we all pitch in.

Coworking, Co-workers and the Co-work Community

DSC_0549

Co-working is something that lies at the heart of our ethos at THECUBE. Of course, our social business community here in Shoreditch includes all sorts of businesses, freelancers and people who come together to share our open office space as well as enjoy all the benefits of co-working.

If you haven’t yet heard about co-working – it’s an emerging trend that’s designed to offer collaborative, co-working communities for people who might otherwise work from home. Gone are the days when we would lock ourselves away and feel isolated from the working world. Co-working spaces bring free access to wider communities and resources whereby people can learn and grow from one another.

Co-working completely suits the new business world that has been shaped by the growth of the Internet. Thanks to the web, we are a population of people who now demand openness and transparency from anything and everything we buy, hire or take on.

To ‘co-work’ has also satisfied our sensitivity to environmental issues. It’s considered to be very ‘green’ to share office space with other businesses. Some of our co-workers even lift share and cut down on their carbon footprint. Overall, co-working is being seen not just as an emerging trend but something that will become increasingly commonplace.

Co-working isn’t the future. It’s already here and there are lots of places popping up all over the globe. THECUBE is one of the leading co-working spaces in London and we work extremely hard with all of our members to help them to grow, flourish and be every success in their business ventures. To find out more about co-working, give us a call or get in touch. We look forward to discussing your co-working needs.
