THECUBE is getting into the Olympic spirit by supporting our friends, Sarah Kemp and Jack Hemingway. From January 2012 they created a huge a huge culinary challenge – to eat a dish from every single country taking part in the London 2012 Olympics.
Six months, 120 dishes and a brand new flat later, they are ready to share their culinary experiments with you.
They raced to the perfect start, completing thirty dishes in the first two weeks. But as the warmer weather rolled in and the work commitments increased, they found it increasingly hard to stick to their original plan of cooking every evening. And with a flat sitting empty while they get planning permission to knock down a wall, they have decided to put it to good use in the mean time.
So that’s where you come in. For two weekends before and during the Olympic games, Jack and Sarah invite you to their Eat the Olympics experience. Diners will marvel at a set dressed space and dishes created by a collective of young foodies. Expect a feast for the eyes and stomach.
Each supper club will have a different theme – Jack and Sarah will be cooking appetisers, main courses and desserts (with a cheeky cocktail on arrival) from a different continent each time, which diners can enjoy against an Olympic themed backdrop. And at the end of the meal, guests can vote for each dish, choosing to award it Gold / Silver / Bronze or the dreaded Disqualified.
The good news is that diners get to have a go too, if they want to, of course. Jack and Sarah are challenging their guests to create their own appetizer from a country delegated by them and in return they will shave £10 off the suggested donation.
Bookings are now open for the following dates, please book via email
